Full Roof Replacement – California, MO
About this roof
This home in California, Missouri was ready for a fresh start. We completed a clean single-layer tear-off down to the OSB decking, then rebuilt the roof with the Owens Corning Duration system in Black Sable, topped with a matching DuraRidge cap along the peaks.
Along with the new roof, the homeowner upgraded the attic ventilation with turbine vents. Good ventilation lets hot, humid air escape instead of getting trapped under the roof, which means less moisture buildup, healthier decking, and shingles that reach their full lifespan. We finished with PSU30 premium ice and water shield at every penetration, new drip edge around the perimeter, and a thorough magnetic nail sweep before we left.
Backed by our 10-year workmanship warranty. Midwest Roofing serves Lake Ozark, Eldon, Columbia, Springfield, and Kansas City.

Why add turbine vents on this California, MO roof?
California is the Moniteau County seat, on US-50 between Jefferson City and Sedalia, where summer attics bake and winter brings freeze-thaw cycles. Turbine vents use passing wind to spin and pull hot, damp air out of the attic. They work best paired with intake vents at the soffits, so outside air comes in low and leaves high. A drier, cooler attic protects the OSB decking underneath and helps the shingles last.
At 4,500 square feet, this was a big roof, so the Black Sable Duration shingles and the matching DuraRidge cap went on over a clean, single-layer tear-off. That let our crew check every sheet of decking before the new roof covered it.
