About the Role
We are a fast-growing residential roofing company seeking a high-energy, customer-centric Lead Setter whose primary focus is outgoing calls.
This role is responsible for re-engaging homeowners who previously contacted Midwest Roofing but did not move forward at the time — often because they weren’t ready, timing wasn’t right, or the project was postponed. These are warm leads, not cold calls.
You’ll reconnect with homeowners weeks or months later, build rapport, educate them, and determine readiness to schedule an inspection.
Incoming calls are secondary and only required during high-volume periods to assist the main lead setter.
This position is salary-based with bonus and commission opportunities and includes rotating evening and weekend call coverage.
Primary Responsibilities (Outgoing Call Focus)
Make consistent outbound calls to:
- Follow up on unsold or postponed jobs
- Reconnect with homeowners who were “not ready yet”
- Revive stalled opportunities through professional, friendly follow-up
- Deliver upbeat, high-energy, and confident conversations that reflect Midwest Roofing’s brand
- Identify readiness and set qualified appointments for the sales team
- Use provided scripts and call frameworks while sounding natural and conversational
- Track all activity, notes, and outcomes accurately in CRM
- Follow structured follow-up cadences and performance expectations
Secondary Responsibilities (Incoming Call Support Only)
- Assist with incoming calls during peak volume times
- Support the main lead setter by:
- Answering overflow calls
- Scheduling qualified inspections
- Ensuring no homeowner inquiry goes unanswered
- Provide professional customer service and route escalations appropriately
Appointment-Setting Standards
- Answer and call out with confidence, energy, and professionalism
- Confirm the homeowner is the decision maker
- Confirm all decision makers will be present
- Confirm no conflicting activities during the appointment window
- Use a scripted framework to build urgency and schedule inspections promptly
- Collect and verify all homeowner details (name, address, email, best phone number, etc.)
- Send confirmations and update sales calendars accurately
Qualifications
- Prior experience in customer service, call center, lead generation, or sales support preferred
- Comfortable making high volumes of outbound calls
- Strong phone presence with clear, professional communication
- Confident handling objections with empathy and clarity
- Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
- Coachable and willing to follow systems, scripts, and feedback
- Willingness to work evenings and weekends on a rotating schedule
